Muzaffarpur: A complaint has been filed against Bhojpuri actor and Azamgarh MP Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, and actress Amrapali Dubey in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The complaint was lodged by Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha after a major traffic jam took place during a mall inauguration programme attended by the stars. The complaint has also been filed against five other people, including Muzaffarpur SDM (East) Tushar Kumar and the mall owners Vivek Agarwal and Vikas Agarwal. The case will be heard in the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on October 18th.
The incident happened on October 4th at Kalambagh Chowk in Muzaffarpur. Nirahua and Amrapali Dubey had come to inaugurate a new shopping mall, which attracted a massive crowd of fans eager to see the Bhojpuri stars. The crowd was so large that traffic in several parts of the city came to a standstill. Hundreds of vehicles were stuck for hours, and even an ambulance carrying a patient could not move due to the gridlock, causing serious inconvenience to the public.
Advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha, who filed the complaint, said that the event organisers and the actors should be held responsible for causing public inconvenience. He added that the permission for such a large public gathering should not have been granted without proper arrangements for traffic and safety. The complaint has been filed under several sections of the Indian Penal Code related to negligence, obstruction, and endangering public life. “Thousands of people were allowed to gather on a busy road, and ambulances were stranded for hours. The court has accepted the complaint,” Ojha said.
Ojha also criticised the local administration for allowing such an event to take place, saying that it showed clear negligence. He referred to a recent incident in Tamil Nadu where 41 people died and over 100 were injured during a stampede at a political rally of South Indian actor Vijay. “When such tragic incidents have already happened elsewhere, how could the administration allow a similar event without precautions?” he questioned.
The hearing on October 18th will decide the next steps in the case. The incident has sparked discussions in Muzaffarpur and beyond about the need for better planning and crowd control during celebrity events. Many residents have also raised concerns about the safety of the public and the responsibilities of both event organisers and government officials in preventing such chaos in the future.
