Cyber Alert Issued Amid India-Pakistan Tensions: Bihar Police Warn of Potential Hacker Threats

Patna: As hostilities escalate between India and Pakistan, intelligence agencies have warned of an increased risk of cyber attacks, particularly from Pakistani hackers targeting both VIPs and the general public through internet-connected devices.

In response to a central government advisory, the cyber unit of Bihar Police has urged heightened vigilance. Officials have cautioned against clicking on unknown video or file links, especially those received via messaging apps or SMS from unfamiliar numbers.

Of particular concern is the auto-download feature found on smartphones, which can automatically download malicious content, potentially allowing hackers to seize control of a user’s device.

The Economic Offences Unit’s cyber division has instructed all cyber police stations across Bihar to launch public awareness campaigns and advise both government officials and the general public to disable auto-download options on their phones immediately.

“Cyber warfare is now a front line of conflict. Even a single careless click can compromise critical systems or personal data,” said a senior official in the cyber division.

The advisory comes amid fears that crucial government systems, financial data, and personal devices may be targeted as part of a broader cyber warfare strategy during this period of heightened military tension.

  • Amid claims that the deceased student had personally purchased sleeping pills from a medical store at Arwal Mod, Jehanabad, the owner of Rohit Medical denied the allegation.

The shopkeeper stated that the medicine was not sold to the student, but to her father, who visited the store with a valid prescription. He said SIT officials questioned him, checked records, and collected CCTV footage during the inquiry.
