Patna: Indian Railways has announced that four special trains will run between Danapur in Bihar and Bengaluru in Karnataka to handle the heavy passenger rush during the festive months. These trains will begin service at the end of August and continue until the end of December, offering extra travel options for people who often struggle to find seats during this busy period.
The first service, train number 03251 Danapur–SMVB Bengaluru Special, will start from August 31 and run every Sunday and Monday. It will leave Danapur at 3pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 2.30pm on the third day. The return service, 03252 SMVB Bengaluru–Danapur Special, will begin from September 2 and run every Tuesday and Wednesday. This train will leave Bengaluru at 11.50pm and reach Danapur at 11.55pm on the third day.
In addition to these, another pair of trains has been added to the schedule. Train number 03259 Danapur–SMVB Bengaluru Special will run from September 2 to December 30, operating every Tuesday. Like the earlier service, it will leave Danapur at 3pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 2.30pm on the third day. Its return counterpart, 03260 SMVB Bengaluru–Danapur Special, will run every Thursday from September 4 to January 1. It will depart Bengaluru at 11.50pm and reach Danapur on the third day at 11.55pm.
Railway officials said these additional services will be especially useful for students, workers, and families who travel frequently between Bihar and Karnataka. The festive season usually sees trains running at full capacity, and confirmed tickets are hard to find. With these extra trains, passengers are expected to get more flexibility and comfort while planning their journeys. Officials have also suggested that passengers book their tickets early to avoid last-minute rush
