Patna: Mauryalok complex, once a busy centre of shops and government offices in Patna, is now set to change its image. The complex is being redeveloped into a smart lifestyle hub under the Patna Smart City project. This will no longer just be a place for office work and shopping. Instead, people will soon find facilities such as a modern gym, a three-screen multiplex, a gaming zone, a rooftop restaurant and a banquet hall all in one place. The entire project is costing about Rs 15 crore and is being carried out by Patna Smart City Limited. Officials say that the work will be ready in the next 10 days.
Earlier, the project was supposed to be inaugurated on August 15, but due to technical reasons, the date had to be postponed. Now the final work like lighting and interior finishing is being done. According to Priya Saurabh, public relations officer of Patna Smart City Limited, the civil construction has already been completed. The new look of Mauryalok will make it a hub where people can come for fitness, entertainment and also to attend social events.
Health and fitness will be a big attraction in the new Mauryalok. A wellness centre of 5,000 square feet, a gym covering 1,500 square feet and a yoga centre spread over 3,500 square feet are part of the plan. The gym will have modern fitness machines, cardio and strength training options, along with yoga, Zumba and personal trainers. This will give people a chance to take care of their health while also enjoying entertainment at the same location.
For movie lovers, a multiplex with three screens has been built. It will offer the latest films with digital sound and premium seating. Children and youngsters will have a gaming zone to enjoy, while families can dine at a rooftop restaurant. A banquet hall has also been created for weddings, parties and other social events. For decades, Mauryalok was one of Patna’s main business centres, but over time it had lost its charm. The redevelopment is being seen as a fresh start that will bring new life to the area. Local shopkeepers have welcomed the changes, saying that it will increase business and create jobs for local people.
