Patna: Rail passengers travelling between Bihar and Maharashtra are set to benefit from a new long-distance train service after East Central Railway announced the launch of a weekly Amrit Bharat Express connecting Danapur and Pune.
The new service, scheduled to commence regular operations from June 27, has been introduced to address growing passenger demand on one of the country’s busiest migration and employment corridors.
Railway officials said the train is expected to provide relief to workers, students, business travellers and families who frequently travel between Bihar and Maharashtra and often face difficulties securing confirmed tickets.
Weekly Service Between Danapur And Pune
According to Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway, the train will operate once a week in both directions.
Train No. 11431 Pune–Danapur Amrit Bharat Express will depart from Pune every Saturday at 3.25pm and reach Danapur at 1.30am on Monday.
The return service, Train No. 11432 Danapur–Pune Amrit Bharat Express, will leave Danapur every Monday at 3.30am and arrive in Pune at 11.05am on Tuesday.

The train will connect Bihar with western India through several major railway junctions.

- Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU)

- Jabalpur
- Itarsi
- Bhusawal
- Pune
Railway officials said the service is expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling to Maharashtra for employment, higher education and business purposes.
Modern Coaches And Passenger Facilities
The Amrit Bharat Express has been designed to provide affordable travel while incorporating modern passenger amenities.
The train consists of 18 coaches, including sleeper and unreserved accommodation.

Officials said the train features push-pull technology, which improves operational efficiency and performance.

The launch comes amid a broader expansion of the Amrit Bharat train network aimed at providing affordable long-distance rail travel with upgraded amenities.
The Danapur–Pune route serves a large population of migrant workers and students from Bihar who regularly travel to Maharashtra for employment and educational opportunities.
Railway authorities said the additional service is expected to reduce pressure on existing trains while offering passengers a safer and more comfortable travel experience.
The announcement follows the recent launch of other Amrit Bharat services connecting Bihar with different parts of the country, reflecting the Railways’ focus on strengthening long-distance connectivity from the state.
