Patna/Darbhanga: A distressing case of rape of a coaching centre student has come to light in Darbhanga. A minor was found unconscious at the coaching centre after an alleged assault. The victim is a 10th-grade student. The coaching centre operator has been accused of raping her.
The class was from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. She did not return home until 6 p.m. on the day of the incident, which worried the family and prompted them to begin searching for her. Her uncle found the coaching centre locked from the inside and alerted the police. By the time officers arrived, the accused had fled, leaving the girl unconscious.
Upon receiving information, Phekla police station in-charge Gautam Kumar arrived at the scene with his team. The girl was admitted to DMCH. Initially, the girl’s condition was reported to be critical, but she regained consciousness after treatment. A case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act. The incident occurred on Wednesday, and the matter came to light after the case was registered on Friday.
The victim’s father stated in an application to the police station that his daughter had been attending coaching classes with Avinash Kumar, also known as Raja Das, for about two years. Her grandmother said the family had trusted the teacher, but he “betrayed” that trust. “Her life has been ruined. She is still a child,” the grandmother said, demanding the “harshest punishment”, while her grandfather said that the devilish coaching teacher had wronged his granddaughter. “He should receive the harshest punishment”, he stated.
The accused, Avinash alias Raja Kumar, is a teacher. The victim’s home is barely 300 metres from the coaching centre, which lies about 500 metres from the Phekla police station. Both the girl and the accused tutor live in the same village and are said to be related as uncle and niece. Another suspect is the coaching centre operator, Anand Kumar.
Station House Officer Gautam Kumar stated that the minor has undergone a medical examination. A 183 statement has been recorded in court. Following the statement, the victim was escorted home, reuniting with her family. The main accused, Raja Kumar, and his family members have fled the house. Police are conducting continuous raids. The accused’s mobile location is being tracked. Anand Kumar, the other coaching centre operator, will also be questioned.
