Patna: The Bihar government has announced plans to develop a 242-acre Fintech City near Fatuha, modelled on Gujarat’s GIFT City. Approved with a budget of Rs. 408.81 crore for land acquisition, the project is expected to become a centre for financial and technology companies, creating employment opportunities and promoting innovation across the state.
Industry Minister Dilip Jaiswal said the Fintech City will bring together major financial institutions, fintech startups, and IT firms in a single location. “This initiative will provide advanced infrastructure and a supportive policy environment, enabling banks, investment institutions, insurance companies, fintech startups, and IT firms to operate efficiently,” Jaiswal said.
A multi-modal logistics park will also be developed near the Fintech City, providing direct export facilities from Patna and boosting Bihar’s trade. In addition, a dedicated technology cluster will support research and innovation within the city.
Officials said this will be the first large-scale hub of modern financial services and technology companies in Bihar, with the potential to transform the state’s economic and financial landscape.
