Darbhanga: In a viral video, two people wearing police uniforms are consuming alcohol in an under-construction house in the Kevati police station area. There are three glasses filled with alcohol, and one person is recording the video on a mobile phone. A watchman in uniform is visible in the video. The uniform has a BHP badge on it.
The pants of the second person’s uniform are visible. There is also a third person in the video. As per the video footage, preparations for the liquor party were made in advance. The setup includes a table, alcohol, water, and non-veg snacks.
It is the responsibility of the police to prevent the smuggling and consumption of alcohol, but instead of curbing it, they are drinking themselves. After the video went viral, the police of Kevati police station detained a watchman, from Behta, on suspicion of being involved in the party. He is currently being questioned.
SSP Jagunath Reddy stated that the video will be thoroughly investigated and strict action will be taken. Whether it is someone in uniform or a member of the public, the law is the same for everyone. Anyone who takes the law into their own hands or breaks it will face consequences.
