Lakhisarai: In view of the expected surge in passenger traffic during Durga Puja, Diwali and Chhath, the Railways has decided to operate a daily Puja Special train between Anand Vihar Terminal and Bhagalpur from October 10 to November 26, 2026.

The special train will also stop at Kiul and Abhaypur stations in Lakhisarai district, providing an additional travel option for passengers travelling between Delhi and Lakhisarai during the festive season.

Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhagalpur Puja Special

According to the Railways, Train No. 04062 Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhagalpur Puja Special will operate daily from October 10 to November 25, 2026.

The train will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal at 12 noon and reach Bhagalpur at 1:30 pm the following day.

On its journey towards Bhagalpur, the train will reach Kiul at 10:15 am and Abhaypur at 10:41 am.

Bhagalpur–Anand Vihar Terminal Special

On the return journey, Train No. 04061 Bhagalpur–Anand Vihar Terminal Puja Special will run daily from October 11 to November 26, 2026.

The train will depart from Bhagalpur at 4:30 pm and reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 8 pm the following day.

It will halt at Abhaypur at 6:14 pm and Kiul at 7:05 pm while travelling towards Anand Vihar Terminal.

The train will also stop at several other major stations, including Jamalpur and Sultanganj.

20-coach train to provide additional travel option

The Puja Special will have 20 coaches, comprising one AC 2-Tier coach, two AC 3-Tier coaches, nine sleeper coaches, six general-class coaches and two SLRD coaches.

The additional service is expected to provide relief to passengers as regular trains witness increased demand and longer waiting lists during the period from Durga Puja to Chhath.

For passengers from Lakhisarai district, the scheduled halts at Kiul and Abhaypur will provide an additional option for travelling to and from Delhi during the festive season.
