Patna: Premium smartphones, gaming laptops, smart televisions and household appliances are emerging as popular purchases across Bihar ahead of Dhanteras, as customers explore festive discounts, exchange offers and easy financing options.
Dhanteras will be celebrated on November 6, and advance bookings have gathered pace in the electronics market, according to retailers. Zero-interest EMI schemes, cashback offers and complimentary gifts are among the incentives being offered to attract buyers.
iPhone Pro Max Sees Strong Demand
Premium smartphones, particularly Apple’s iPhone Pro Max models, are attracting considerable interest among customers. Ashutosh Kumar, area sales manager at Aditya Vision, said demand for iPhones was particularly strong, with Pro Max models priced at around Rs 1.5 lakh and other iPhone models starting at approximately Rs 80,000.
Mid-range and premium smartphones from brands such as Vivo and Oppo are also drawing buyers during the festive season.
Double-Door Refrigerators Gain Preference
In the home appliances segment, customers are increasingly opting for double-door refrigerators over single-door models, supported by festive cashback and exchange offers.
Electronics retailers are competing to attract customers through easy EMI plans and additional purchase benefits. Kumar said his store was offering a guaranteed free gift with bookings or purchases of appliances.
Retailers are also arranging free home delivery for large appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines and large-screen televisions, helping customers avoid additional transportation costs.
Gaming Laptops Attract Students And Young Professionals
Laptop retailer Manish Buchasia said laptops equipped with Core i3 and Core i5 processors were in demand among students and young professionals looking for devices suitable for academic work and multitasking.
Students pursuing engineering, learning to code and preparing for online competitive examinations are also showing interest in laptops with gaming capabilities and dedicated graphics cards.
Prices for these laptops start at around Rs 40,000 and can exceed Rs 60,000, depending on specifications. Buyers are also receiving complimentary accessories, including laptop bags and headphones, as part of festive offers.
32-Inch And 43-Inch Smart TVs Lead Sales
Smart LED televisions with 32-inch and 43-inch screens are among the best-selling models, according to senior electronics retailer Neeraj Kumar Jha. Their affordability, internet connectivity and access to over-the-top (OTT) streaming applications have made them popular among households.
A 32-inch smart TV typically costs between Rs 13,000 and Rs 20,000, while 43-inch models are priced between Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000, depending on the brand and features.
Jha said television sales had increased by around 20-25% compared with the previous year.
Festive Offers Shape Buying Trends
Retailers are using discounts, cashback schemes, exchange benefits and complimentary accessories to attract customers across different price segments. Financing options are also helping buyers consider premium electronics alongside essential household appliances.
With Dhanteras approaching, the market is preparing for festive purchases ranging from budget-friendly smart TVs to high-end smartphones and graphics-capable laptops. However, the extent of demand across Bihar may vary by city, retailer and product category.
