Samastipur/Patna: In a bizarre turn of events, a fraudulent online application for a residence certificate has been filed in Bihar in the name of former US President Donald Trump. This incident follows a similar case involving a fake certificate for “Dog Babu,” highlighting a concerning trend of mischief during Bihar’s intensive voter revision process.
The application, submitted to the Public Service Center of the Mohiuddinnagar zone in Samastipur, listed the address as Hasanpur village, Ward 13, Post Bakarpur, Police Station Mohiuddinnagar.
Upon examination, authorities discovered that the application form had been tampered with, including the photo, Aadhaar number, barcode, and address details. Consequently, Revenue Officer Mohiuddinnagar rejected the application on August 4, 2025.
A recommendation has been made to register a First Information Report (FIR) against an unknown person at the Cyber Police Station, Samastipur. RTPS in-charge Srishti Sagar stated that the revenue employee rejected the application. BDO Dr. Navkanj Kumar and CO Brajesh Dwivedi issued a joint press release, confirming that a letter would be sent to a cyber expert for a serious investigation into the matter.
Officials suspect that these fraudulent applications may be an attempt to influence or disrupt the ongoing intensive voter revision program, which is being conducted under the instructions of the Election Commission. The administration is taking the matter seriously and is committed to uncovering the full extent of this unusual activity.
