Patna: A late-night liquor party inside a moving car ended in tragedy near Gate No. 5 of the Gandhi Maidan police station area in Patna, where an elderly woman sitting on the roadside was crushed by an uncontrollable car. The incident occurred when the vehicle, allegedly being driven under the influence of alcohol, lost control and overturned after speeding in from the Red Cross Society direction.
According to eyewitnesses, the car was occupied by four youths who appeared intoxicated and were consuming liquor inside the vehicle. After the crash, all the occupants attempted to flee the scene. Locals and police managed to apprehend one of them, while the others escaped.
The injured woman was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) by police personnel. Her condition is reported to be critical.
All Accused Youths from Madhya Pradesh
Gandhi Maidan Additional SHO Paritosh Kumar confirmed the arrest of one suspect, identified as Vishal Bhadoria. “During interrogation, Vishal revealed that he and his three companions had arrived in Patna earlier today from Madhya Pradesh. They were drinking inside the car when the accident happened,” said Kumar.
The three absconding youths have been identified as Nikhil Kushwaha, Sanju Bhadoria, and Ashish Bhadoria — all residents of Madhya Pradesh and reportedly students. A search operation is underway to trace their whereabouts.
Investigation Ongoing
Police have seized the vehicle and are conducting a detailed investigation, including verifying whether the accused had prior traffic or criminal records. CCTV footage from the area is also being examined to understand the sequence of events.
