Madhubani/Patna: Around 15 to 20 drones were sighted Monday night in the Kamala Border Outpost (BOP) area along the India-Nepal border, prompting a high alert and causing concern from Bihar to Delhi. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) has confirmed the sightings.
According to reports, the drones were observed moving from the north to the east within Indian territory before returning towards Nepal, heading from west to north. Locals in the border region reported discussions about the unusual aerial activity.
SSB Deputy Commandant Vivek Ojha confirmed that approximately 15 to 20 drone-like equipment were seen flying in the sky from the north-east direction, near the Kamala BOP, on Monday night. He stated that the equipment entered Indian airspace and then returned towards northern Nepal, with personnel near the Janaki Nagar BOP witnessing their departure.
Following the incident, information has been relayed to both Darbhanga Air Force and Delhi Air Force. Authorities have declared a high alert along the border, with security personnel continuously monitoring the situation.
Deputy Commandant Ojha also mentioned that inquiries were made with Nepalese security forces regarding the flying equipment, but Nepalese officials denied conducting any such experiments. The exact nature and purpose of the drones remain under investigation.
