Patna: A major security lapse occurred on Ganga Setu in Patna on Tuesday when an unidentified man in an intoxicated state breached the convoy of Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. The man, driving a four-wheeler at high speed, forcefully entered the convoy and reached dangerously close to Tejashwi’s car.
Despite repeated attempts by security personnel to stop him, the driver continued to manoeuvre his vehicle parallel to Tejashwi’s car along the busy bridge. It was only after the pilot vehicle from Sultanganj received information that police managed to intercept and stop the car.
Upon being detained, it was confirmed that the man was under the influence of alcohol. During interrogation, he repeatedly changed his address when questioned by the police.
The man has been taken into custody at Sultanganj police station in Patna and his four-wheeler has been seized. Further interrogation is underway to ascertain his identity, intent, and whether there was any larger motive behind breaching the opposition leader’s security.
