Patna: The fifth electric house (e-house) of the city was inaugurated on Friday at the collectorate premises, marking a significant step in enhancing the capital’s power infrastructure.
The 33/11 kV e-house, with a capacity of 20 MVA, will receive electricity from two 33 kV sources, one from the Digha grid and another through SK Memorial. Officials said the new substation will reduce the load on the SK Memorial and Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) substations.
With the commissioning of this e-house, electricity supply to the Patna Collectorate, Police Line, Ashok Rajpath, Civil Court, Govind Mitra Road, Bakarganj, Bari Path, Bankipur, Sabzibagh, and Pirbahor areas is expected to improve significantly.
Previously, e-houses were installed in Patliputra, Chhajjubaag, Bakri Mandi, and Kumhrar, with plans to set up the next facility in Vijay Nagar near Gola Road after Navratri.
The development reflects ongoing efforts by Patna Electricity Supply Establishment (PESU) to strengthen the city’s electrical network and ensure reliable power for residential, commercial, and government areas.
