Patna: The Fire Department has issued notices to 72 establishments across Patna as part of a city-wide drive to enforce fire safety standards, officials said on June 5.
The action covers hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, guest houses and restaurants operating in multiple parts of the city, including Dakbungalow, Station Road, Digha, Pataliputra, Kankarbagh, Ashok Rajpath, Kadamkuan and Phulwarisharif.
Officials have sought detailed compliance reports from all identified establishments and directed them to rectify deficiencies within the stipulated timeline.
Hospitals and Nursing Homes Under Review
As part of the exercise, notices have been issued to 32 hospitals and nursing homes for alleged lapses in fire safety preparedness.
The list includes Arogya Orthopedic and Trauma Clinic, Lifeline Hospital, Care Mankind Hospital, Carewell Multispeciality Hospital, Anupama Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, ANS Multispeciality Hospital, GS Neuroscience Clinic and Research Centre, Ejaz Clinic, Arvind Hospital, Kidney Hospital, Shivalayam Hospital, Shriram Super Speciality and Referral Hospital, Ford Hospital and Research Centre, Mediworld Hospital and Aastha Lok Hospital.
Officials said inspections found deficiencies in compliance with mandatory safety norms, prompting issuance of notices and directions for corrective action.
Hotels, Guest Houses and Restaurants Included
The Fire Department has also served notices to 40 hotels, guest houses and restaurants across the city.
These include Hotel Riddhi-Siddhi, Green Plaza, Kumar Guest House, Singh Guest House, Maa Guest House, Nitya Guest House, Rama Guest House, Abhinandan Rest House, Yo China Resto, Khadag Singh Da Dhaba, Swadesh Family Restaurant, Hotel Kunal International, Hotel Vista Palace, Hotel Clarks Inn, Hotel Suprabha, Hotel Pataliputra Exotica, Hotel SS Exotica and Hotel Menka.
Authorities said the establishments are being examined for compliance with fire safety infrastructure requirements, including emergency exits and firefighting systems.
Compliance Review and Possible Action
The Fire Department has instructed all establishments to submit compliance reports after completing necessary upgrades and corrective measures.
Officials said further action will depend on the responses received, with legal steps, including sealing of premises, possible in cases of non-compliance.
Authorities added that the drive is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen public safety standards across the city and similar inspections will continue in the coming weeks.
