Patna: Electricity supply will remain suspended in 42 localities of Patna for four hours on Sunday morning due to scheduled maintenance work on 220/132 kV transmission lines linked to the Gaighat and Katra grids, officials said.
The shutdown will be in effect from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM, affecting power distribution across several densely populated areas of the city.
Maintenance on Transmission Network
According to electricity department officials, the maintenance work is being carried out on key transmission lines connected to the Gaighat and Katra grids.
The planned activity is expected to improve grid reliability and reduce the risk of unplanned outages in the future.
Water Supply to Be Impacted
The power disruption is likely to affect water supply across multiple neighbourhoods, as pump houses dependent on electricity will not be operational during the outage period.
Residents with private borewells will also be unable to operate water motors due to the absence of power, increasing the likelihood of temporary water shortages.
Advisory for Residents
Authorities from the Electricity Department and Water Supply agencies have advised residents to store adequate water in advance.
Households have been encouraged to fill overhead tanks either on Saturday night or early Sunday morning.
Officials particularly advised apartment residents to plan ahead, noting that limited storage capacity in building tanks may not be sufficient for the four-hour disruption.

The power shutdown will impact areas including Gaighat, Rajaghat, Tripolia, Sultanganj, Alamganj, Gud Ki Mandi, Sher Shah Road, Bari Patan Devi, Maharajganj, Paschim Darwaza, City Chowk, Meena Bazar, Maheshpur, Government Girls’ School area, Sales Tax Office area, Pathar Ki Masjid, Biscomaun Colony, Vachaspati Nagar, Jai Mahavir Colony, Sandalpur, Azimabad Colony, Adivasi Colony, Machhua Toli, Saidpur, Musallahpur Hat, Bazar Samiti, Bhikhna Pahari, Rampur Nahar Road, Gurhatta, Noon Ka Chauraha, Jhauganj, Padri Ki Haveli, Khajekalan, Kali Sthan City, Station Road, Patna City, Katra, Malsalami, Marufganj and Mangal Talab.
