Patna: A free helmet distribution drive was organised at Jesus and Mary Academy, Patna City, on Sunday, 9 February 2025, in collaboration with social worker Madhu Manjari and the Indian Head Injury Foundation. The initiative, supported by ICICI Lombard, aimed to raise awareness about road safety for children.

The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, attended by the school’s Director Ambrose Patrick, Deputy Director Abhishek Patrick, and Principal Pooja N Sharma, alongside guest dignitaries including social worker Madhu Manjari, Ward 67 councillor Manoj Kumar Jaiswal, and Devesh from the Indian Head Injury Foundation.

The initiative addressed a critical safety gap—while parents often wear helmets while riding bikes or scooters, children are frequently left unprotected. To tackle this issue, 400 helmets were distributed—200 for children and 200 for their parents—to encourage safer commuting practices.

The event was conducted by teacher Mukesh Kumar Ojha, and a vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Director Abhishek Patrick, who expressed gratitude to Madhu Manjari and ICICI Lombard. He emphasised that such social initiatives play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring children’s safety.
