Patna: A man was found dead inside a car under suspicious circumstances in Patna’s Gardanibagh area on Sunday, prompting an investigation by local police.
The body was discovered inside a vehicle parked on Road No. 1 under the jurisdiction of Gardanibagh police station. The deceased was identified as Ravi Kumar, a driver originally from Bokaro district in neighbouring Jharkhand.
News of the incident drew a large crowd to the area, with local residents gathering around the vehicle as police arrived at the scene.
Driver Had Left To Get Food, Says Employer
According to the vehicle’s owner, Ravi Kumar had taken the car out at around 10 am after informing him that he was going to get a meal.
When he did not return for several hours, family members and associates began searching for him at around 3 pm.
Later in the evening, they located the vehicle parked on Road No. 1 in Gardanibagh. Ravi Kumar was subsequently found dead inside the car.
The owner said Kumar had been employed as a driver for approximately three months.
The vehicle involved bears registration number BR 01DQ 1820.
Police Begin Probe
Police officers reached the location soon after receiving information about the incident and initially cordoned off the area.
Officials said the circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear and that investigators are examining all possible angles.
Dr Anu Kumari, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Secretariat), said Gardanibagh police station received information regarding a body found inside a vehicle.
“The scene was secured after receiving the information. The driver had taken the vehicle out earlier in the day after informing his employer. The body is being sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the findings,” she said.
Questions Raised Over Handling Of Scene
Witnesses at the location alleged that the vehicle was removed from the site before forensic experts had completed an examination.
According to local accounts, the car was towed away with the body still inside before the arrival of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team.
Police officials have not publicly commented on those allegations.
Investigators said forensic analysis and the post-mortem report would play a crucial role in determining the cause of death.

Authorities have summoned forensic experts and launched an inquiry into the incident.
Police said no conclusions would be drawn until the post-mortem examination and forensic assessment are completed.
