BodhGaya: Travellers from Gaya to Mumbai will soon have a direct option again, as IndiGo Airlines announces the resumption of its flight service from Gaya International Airport starting March 29. The service will operate until October 30, 2026 with the flight scheduled to arrive in Gaya at 3:20pm and depart for Mumbai at 3:50pm.
The move is aimed at accommodating increased passenger demand during the summer season. Airport director Awadhesh Kumar said the service has been introduced on a limited-term basis to ensure convenience for travellers, but it could become a permanent route in the future.
The new schedule is expected to ease travel for residents of Gaya and neighbouring districts, boosting business, tourism, and religious travel. Meanwhile, an Air India service on the route is likely to be discontinued, with Air India Express reportedly considering launching a replacement service.
