Gaya/Patna: The Gaya district administration has stepped up preparations for the proposed foundation laying ceremony of a Rs 200-crore technology centre scheduled for Monday.
The project is expected to support industrial and technological development in Gaya and the wider Magadh region by creating opportunities for technical training, skill development and industry engagement.
Officials are also preparing for the possible visit of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who is expected to attend the event.
District officials inspect venue
District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar, Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar and officials from various departments conducted a detailed inspection of the proposed event site.
The review covered arrangements for the stage, public gathering area, state hangar, parking facilities, helipad and security infrastructure.
Officials assessed site requirements and issued directions to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
Monsoon contingency measures planned
With the monsoon season approaching, authorities are making additional preparations to minimise the impact of adverse weather conditions.
During the inspection, officials noted challenges posed by loose sand and ground moisture at the venue. The district magistrate directed departments to level the site and install mats where required to improve accessibility.
Officials said alternative arrangements are also being planned in case of rainfall during the event.
Separate arrangements for VIPs and public
The administration has proposed separate parking facilities for VIPs and members of the public.
According to the plan, the helipad will be located near the main entrance, while only a limited number of VIP vehicles will be allowed close to the venue. Parking for the general public is expected to be arranged near the Shripur bridge area, with transport arrangements to facilitate movement to the event site.
Security and traffic management under review
Security planning remains a key focus ahead of the proposed programme.
Officials reviewed route management, crowd control, traffic regulation and other security measures during the inspection. Authorities said the objective is to ensure orderly movement of visitors and smooth conduct of the programme in the event of large public attendance.
Project seen as boost for regional development
The proposed technology centre is being viewed as a significant infrastructure project for the region. Officials said it is expected to strengthen technical education and support industrial development in Gaya and neighbouring districts.
Preparations for the ceremony are continuing under the supervision of district authorities, with departments coordinating logistics, infrastructure and security arrangements.
