New Delhi/Patna: Gold and silver prices moved higher on Monday, August 4, with both precious metals recording gains in the domestic market.
According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold rose by Rs 381 to Rs 1,42,938 per 10 grams, while silver gained Rs 2,130 to reach Rs 2.19 lakh per kilogram.

Gold Up Rs 10,000 This Year
Gold prices have remained volatile in 2026 but have broadly trended upwards.
On December 31, 2025, 10 grams of gold was priced at just over Rs 1.33 lakh. It has since climbed by around Rs 10,000 to reach Rs 1.43 lakh.
During the year, gold touched an all-time high of Rs 1.76 lakh per 10 grams.
Silver Still Below Last Year’s Level
Silver also witnessed sharp fluctuations this year.
Although prices rose on Monday, the metal remains around Rs 12,000 lower than its level at the end of 2025. Silver was trading at Rs 2.30 lakh per kilogram on December 31, 2025, compared with around Rs 2.18–2.19 lakh now.
The white metal had surged to a record Rs 3.86 lakh per kilogram on January 29, before retreating in subsequent months.
