Arrah: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini visited Bhojpur on Wednesday to campaign for BJP candidate Vishal Prashant, addressing a large rally at the Katar Sports Ground in Hasan Bazaar, Tarari Assembly constituency.
Before speaking to the crowd, Saini honoured Katar Panchayat Deputy Sarpanch Geeta Rajwar with a shawl and touched her feet to seek her blessings. In his address, delivered in Bhojpuri, he thanked the assembled public for their turnout and criticised the Grand Alliance, accusing its leaders of lacking policies or direction.
“The people of the Grand Alliance are sitting in a car that has no air,” Saini said, in a metaphor aimed at Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Prasad Yadav. “They have no issues, no policies, no intentions. Rahul and Tejashwi are saying they will provide jobs to every household—but these are empty promises.”
Saini recalled Bihar’s governance under Lalu Prasad before 2005, describing widespread corruption, lack of education and healthcare, and an environment of lawlessness. “At that time, when I was campaigning in Valmikinagar, I could not leave after 5 p.m. because of the threat of violence,” he said. “This is the legacy the Grand Alliance wants to continue.”
The Chief Minister also launched a counterattack on Rahul Gandhi’s recent comment that Prime Minister Modi can “dance for votes.” “It’s Congress that is dancing—around the Constitution drafted by Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, sometimes abusing the EVM, sometimes claiming votes were stolen. The people have rejected it, and now Bihar will too,” Saini said.
BJP candidate Vishal Prashant welcomed Saini’s visit as a boost for the party’s campaign. “The arrival of the Haryana Chief Minister is an honour for Tarari. During our tenure, schemes worth over Rs 900 crore were approved in the area, benefitting the public,” he said.
