Patna : The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for applications for its July 2026 admission cycle until September 30, giving students additional time to complete the admission process for eligible programmes.
The extension applies to notified programmes offered through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes. Students who are yet to apply can use the extended window to complete their registration through the university’s designated admission portals.
IGNOU July 2026 Admission Deadline Extended
The July 2026 admission cycle provides an opportunity for students to pursue higher education through IGNOU’s flexible learning system.
The university offers a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and postgraduate diploma programmes through different modes. Students are required to check the availability, eligibility criteria and other requirements for their preferred programme before submitting an application.
IGNOU also provides admission facilities for eligible foreign students, including SAARC, non-SAARC, FSRI and NRI learners, for applicable programmes.
How To Apply For IGNOU July 2026 Admission
Students can apply online by visiting IGNOU’s official website, ignou.ac.in, and going to the Admission section. Applicants need to select their preferred ODL, online or eligible foreign IOP programme, register by entering the required details and then log in to complete the application form. After entering their academic and personal information, applicants have to upload the required documents and pay the applicable programme fee online. Once the form is submitted successfully, students should save or download the confirmation page and payment receipt for future reference.
Check Programme Eligibility Before Applying
Students should carefully check the eligibility criteria, programme availability, fee structure and admission requirements before submitting their applications.
The university operates separate admission routes for its ODL and online programmes. Applicants should therefore use the appropriate admission portal for the programme they wish to join.
The extended deadline gives prospective students additional time to complete the admission process for the July 2026 session. Applicants are advised not to wait until the final day and should complete the process after verifying all required details and documents.
Admission Withdrawal Facility
IGNOU also provides a facility for students to withdraw from admission subject to the university’s applicable rules and timelines.
Students seeking withdrawal should follow the prescribed procedure and check the applicable fee-refund and deduction rules, as the amount refunded can depend on when the withdrawal request is submitted.
For the latest admission notifications, programme details and application-related information, students should refer to the official IGNOU admission portal and university website.
