Patna: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Association of Diagnostics Manufacturers of India (ADMI) to enhance collaboration between academia and industry in the diagnostics manufacturing sector.
The agreement was formalised through a virtual signing ceremony on June 18 by Dr Vinita S Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, and Jatin Mahajan, President of ADMI. Both organisations said the partnership is designed to create stronger industry linkages for students while supporting the growth of India’s diagnostics manufacturing ecosystem.
Focus on Curriculum and Industry Exposure
Under the agreement, industry experts from ADMI will contribute to curriculum development and deliver specialised modules for the MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) programme at IIM Bodh Gaya.
The collaboration will also provide students with access to live projects, summer internships and final placement opportunities through ADMI member companies. In addition, senior industry professionals will participate in leadership lecture series aimed at bringing practical insights into the academic environment.
Upskilling and Professional Development
The two organisations will jointly develop Management Development Programmes (MDPs) for professionals working in the diagnostics manufacturing sector.
These programmes will include both short-term and long-term learning opportunities focused on enhancing managerial and leadership capabilities among mid-career and senior professionals.
Joint Research and Knowledge Sharing
The partnership also includes a research component focused on generating industry-relevant knowledge.
IIM Bodh Gaya and ADMI plan to collaborate on research papers, white papers, business case studies and consulting projects. The institutions will also organise national and international seminars, conferences and industry conclaves to address issues related to healthcare management, technology and policy.
Support for MBA (HHM) Programme
Dr Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of the MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) programme at IIM Bodh Gaya, said the collaboration would strengthen the programme’s engagement with the medical devices and diagnostics industry.
Launched in 2023, the two-year full-time MBA (HHM) programme is designed to prepare professionals for leadership roles across hospitals, public health, pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare, medical devices, digital health, health insurance and healthcare consulting.
Growing Importance of Diagnostics Manufacturing
The partnership provides students with direct exposure to India’s diagnostics manufacturing ecosystem, a sector that is becoming increasingly important to the country’s healthcare infrastructure and domestic manufacturing ambitions.
With the diagnostics industry expected to expand further due to growing public health needs and policy support for local manufacturing, both organisations said the collaboration would help develop a skilled talent pipeline for the sector.
