Patna: The Indian Institute Of Patna (IIT) Patna has reported annual salary packages of up to Rs. 56 lakh for students enrolled in its hybrid undergraduate and postgraduate programmes during the 2026 placement season.
According to figures released by the institute, 10 students received the highest package of Rs. 56 lakh per annum. Three students secured offers worth Rs. 52 lakh, while two students received packages of Rs. 50 lakh and three others were offered rs. 49 lakh annually.
The institute also said that more than 30 students secured offers ranging between RS. 40 lakh and Rs. 48 lakh per annum.
240 students receive job offers
IIT Patna said 887 undergraduate and 672 postgraduate students from its hybrid programmes were eligible for placements this year.
Of these, 780 students participated in the placement process, with 240 receiving job offers. The institute added that more than 460 students secured internship opportunities.
Internship offers from major technology companies
The institute reported strong internship outcomes alongside final placements.
According to IIT Patna Director T N Singh, more than 200 students received internship offers from leading companies, including Oracle and IBM. The internships are expected to provide students with industry exposure and practical experience.
First batch under NEP-linked hybrid model
The students belong to the initial batch of hybrid degree programmes introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programmes combine online and on-campus learning, allowing students to access lectures and course material digitally while attending laboratory sessions, projects, assessments and specialised academic activities on campus.
The institute said the model aims to integrate academic learning with industry-oriented skills and flexible access to higher education.
Growing role of hybrid education
Commenting on the placement outcomes, Director T N Singh said the results demonstrated the potential of hybrid education to create employment opportunities for students and working professionals pursuing higher studies.
He said the combination of quality teaching, digital learning tools and industry-focused training had helped students secure opportunities in India and abroad.
Courses offered under the hybrid model
IIT Patna currently offers several hybrid programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include courses in Computer Science and Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Business Management and Cloud Computing, among other emerging technology domains.
The institute also runs certificate programmes in areas such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for working professionals seeking to upgrade their skills.
Officials said the curriculum has been designed in line with industry requirements, with a focus on technical knowledge and practical application.
