Patna: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna successfully concluded its much-awaited annual sports extravaganza, Infinito 2025, under the theme “Imperio Guerrero” (Empire of Warriors). The three-day event pulsed with competitive energy, sportsmanship, and cultural vibrancy, uniting more than 1,200 athletes from across the nation.
The Felicitation Ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Director of IIIT Bhopal; Prof. T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna; Prof. A. K. Thakur, Dean (Administration) and Registrar; Dr. Sumanta Gupta, Sports Chairman; Dr. Jimson Mathew, Dean of Student Affairs; and Dr. Karunesh Kumar, Sports Officer.
This year’s Infinito featured an extensive lineup of both indoor and outdoor sports — athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, kabaddi, lawn tennis, squash, table tennis, and volleyball. The event drew 800 male and 400 female participants, representing 55 colleges, turning the IIT Patna campus into a hub of competitive zeal and camaraderie.
In his address, Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh underlined the integral role of sports in personal growth, while Prof. T. N. Singh urged students to embrace challenges, saying, “Sports teach us resilience; failures prepare us to strive harder and achieve greater success.”
The festival’s closing moments were marked by medal and certificate presentations to outstanding performers, followed by a DJ and Cultural Night, which added rhythm and colour to the grand finale.
