Rajgir: India secured a commanding 7-0 victory over China in their third Super 4s match at the Hero Men’s Asia Cup Rajgir Bihar 2025, booking their place in the final against defending champions Korea on Sunday.
Goals from Shilanand Lakra (4′), Dilpreet Singh (7′), Mandeep Singh (18′), Raj Kumar Pal (37′), Sukhjeet Singh (39′), and a brace from Abhishek (46′, 50′) highlighted a dominant display by the home side. From the first whistle, India controlled possession and limited China to their own half.
The scoring began in the fourth minute when Harmanpreet Singh delivered an aerial ball to Jarmanpreet Singh, who crossed to Shilanand Lakra for the opener. Three minutes later, Dilpreet Singh pounced on a rebound from a penalty corner to double India’s lead.
India continued to press in the second quarter, with Mandeep Singh converting a loose ball in the 18th minute following a penalty corner rebound. In the third quarter, Raj Kumar Pal and Sukhjeet Singh added two more goals, ensuring a comfortable advantage heading into the final quarter.
Abhishek completed the scoring with two late goals in the 46th and 50th minutes, including a deft back-handed finish, underlining India’s attacking prowess.
With this comprehensive victory, India will face Korea in the final on Sunday, September 7, at 7:30 PM IST. In other matches, Kazakhstan beat Chinese Taipei 6-4 in the seventh/eighth place playoff, while Korea edged Malaysia 4-3 to reach the final.
