Reports indicate that most affected passengers had previously been rebooked by the airline for December 7, compounding the disruption. Some travellers said that further bookings are only available after January 10, with no official confirmation from the airline. Many passengers have now been stranded in Patna for three consecutive days.
An IndiGo spokesperson said the airline expects operations to stabilise only after December 15, citing the need for “significant and lasting improvements” to its network. Footfall at Patna Airport remained low, with around 4,500 passengers passing through on Sunday.
