Patna: Air connectivity between Bihar and Maharashtra is set to improve significantly with the launch of new flight services connecting Patna with Navi Mumbai, Pune and Mumbai later this month.
From March 29, IndiGo will begin a direct flight between Patna and Navi Mumbai International Airport. This will be the first time a direct flight service is introduced between the two airports. The service will operate on all seven days of the week.
According to the schedule, flight 6E 2043 will depart from Navi Mumbai at 11:55 am and arrive in Patna at 2:15 pm. The return flight, 6E 2167, will depart from Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna at 2:50 pm and reach Navi Mumbai at 5:10 pm.
In another development, IndiGo will also start a new daily service between Patna and Pune Airport from March 30. Flight 6E 653 will depart from Pune at 11:40 pm and arrive in Patna at 2:00 am. The return flight, 6E 126, will leave Patna at 2:55 am and land in Pune at 5:15 am.
Meanwhile, Air India will introduce an additional daily flight on the Mumbai–Patna–Mumbai sector from March 29. Flight AI 2931 will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 5:40 am and arrive in Patna at 7:00 am. The return flight AI 2932 will depart from Patna at 7:35 am and reach Mumbai at 9:55 am.
Officials said the new services are expected to significantly enhance air connectivity between Bihar and Maharashtra, benefiting business travellers, migrant workers and tourists travelling between the two regions.
