Patna: Rail passengers travelling between Rajasthan and Bihar are set to get a new travel option as Indian Railways prepares to launch an Amrit Bharat Express connecting Jaipur and Darbhanga.
The new train is expected to strengthen rail connectivity between the two states while providing additional capacity for long-distance passengers, particularly during peak travel periods and festival seasons.
According to railway officials, the train will operate with a total of 22 coaches. The composition includes eight sleeper-class coaches, 11 general coaches, one pantry car and two LSLRD coaches for luggage and differently-abled passengers.
Train to Stop at 23 Stations
The Jaipur–Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express will pass through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, connecting several major cities and towns across the three states.
Railways has planned 23 stoppages along the route, providing passengers from smaller towns and district headquarters with direct long-distance connectivity.
Officials said the service is expected to benefit thousands of passengers who regularly travel between Rajasthan and Bihar for employment, education, business and family-related purposes.
Inaugural Special Service Announced
The train will initially be operated as an inaugural special service.
Railways has designated train number 09711 Khatipura–Darbhanga Inaugural Special for the launch. After the inaugural run, the service will be operated regularly as train numbers 19725 and 19726.
The introduction of the train is expected to reduce travel difficulties for passengers travelling between northern Rajasthan and north Bihar by providing an additional direct rail connection.
Timings of Two Trains Revised
Railways has also revised the schedules of two existing trains to facilitate the operation of the new Amrit Bharat Express.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest timetable, stoppages and operational updates before commencing their journey.
The Amrit Bharat Express initiative is aimed at providing affordable long-distance travel with improved passenger amenities and increased capacity on high-demand routes.
