Jamui: Villagers in Jamui are living in fear as mysterious drones have been spotted flying over their homes almost every night for the past 15 days. The constant presence of these drones has disturbed the peace of the area and forced villagers to stay awake late into the night. The situation is worst in villages located near the border of the Thana area, where the drones are seen entering after 9 p.m.
Many villagers believe that these drones are being used by thieves to watch people’s houses and plan thefts. The fear of losing their belongings has made people extremely cautious. Every night, as soon as the buzzing sound of drones is heard, villagers rush outside to keep watch. Some even patrol the streets in groups to protect their families and property.
On Wednesday night, the panic grew stronger when a drone was spotted over Yogiyatilha and Budhikhad villages. The frightened villagers quickly informed the police. ASI Mukesh Kumar reached the area with his team and saw the drone flying, but they were unable to find the person controlling it. The incident has worried locals even more, as similar drone-related theft cases were reported earlier in nearby police station areas.
Pankaj Yadav, the head representative of Karma Panchayat, has written to Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Dayal, asking for an urgent investigation. Many other villagers, including Indradev Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Narayan Manjhi, said that drones have been flying in the area continuously for two weeks. People from villages like Yogiyatilha, Budhikhad, Chiraiyatand, and Lalbero are now staying awake every night to guard their homes. Police have promised to report the incident to senior officers and take action, but until then, villagers remain on high alert.
