Patna: The Municipal Corporation of Patna and Patna Smart City Limited have announced that shops along JP Ganga Path will be dismantled and rebuilt following a new design, delaying the allocation process once again.
Around 300 pre-fabricated units that had been installed earlier will be removed to make way for the redesigned shops. Officials said the new layout will draw inspiration from the successful models implemented in Jaipur and Indore, aiming to create a more organised and visually appealing commercial corridor.
“The redesign is part of a broader plan to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of JP Ganga Path,” a municipal official said. “Once the new design is finalised, we will begin the shop allocation process.”
Authorities emphasised that the changes are intended not only to streamline commercial activity but also to improve the overall experience for visitors and residents using the area.
While the exact timeline for the reallocation of shops has not been confirmed, officials said the final design would be ready in the coming weeks. The move is expected to set a benchmark for organised urban commercial spaces in Patna, reflecting best practices from other cities.
