Patna: As the second phase of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections got underway, Jyoti Singh, wife of Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh, issued a heartfelt message to voters in the Karakat constituency.
Speaking to Media, Singh, who is contesting the elections as an independent candidate, expressed regret over not being able to meet every voter personally. “My only shortcoming was having limited time for campaigning. Still, I tried my best. I sincerely apologise to those I couldn’t reach. But the love and affection I’m receiving from the public is no less than a victory for me,” she said.
The announcement comes amid heightened media attention on the couple’s personal and political dynamics. In recent days, reports have emerged of tensions between Pawan and Jyoti Singh, with their relationship making headlines after a visit by Jyoti to Pawan’s residence.
Pawan Singh, who recently joined the BJP, had been speculated to contest the Karakat assembly seat on a BJP ticket. Jyoti Singh, however, had already resolved to stand as an independent, citing her extensive campaigning experience during Pawan’s Lok Sabha run and public encouragement to enter the elections herself.
Rumours of a potential husband-versus-wife contest briefly circulated, but Pawan Singh ultimately decided not to contest, leaving all eyes on Jyoti Singh as she continues her electoral campaign.
