Patna: Bihar is on the verge of making electoral history, with early reports suggesting the second phase of the 2025 Assembly elections is witnessing faster voter participation than the first phase.
By 11am on Tuesday, 31.38% of voters had cast their ballots across 122 constituencies in 20 districts, surpassing the 27.65% turnout recorded at the same time during the first phase. If this momentum continues, the final figures could set a new benchmark for voter engagement in the state.
The first phase of polling, held on November 6, had already set a record with a turnout of 65.08% across 121 assembly seats in 18 districts – the highest ever recorded in Bihar for either an Assembly or Lok Sabha election. The faster pace of voting in the second phase indicates the possibility of yet another historic milestone.
