Lucknow/Patna: In a scene that has sent shockwaves through political and entertainment circles alike, Jyoti Singh — wife of Bhojpuri singer and BJP leader Pawan Singh — broke down outside his Lucknow residence after police allegedly tried to prevent her from meeting him.
A video of the confrontation, now widely shared on social media, shows a visibly emotional Jyoti Singh pleading with police officers and asserting her right to enter her husband’s home. “I have come to my husband Pawan Singh’s house,” she says through tears in the clip. “He has filed an FIR against me. Fans told me, ‘Sister-in-law, go and see who throws you out,’ so I came here as his wife. Now the police have come to take me away.”
In the video, Jyoti is heard questioning the officers: “What case are you taking me to the police station for? Please give me a reason.” A policewoman responds, “You have also filed a complaint of assault.” To this, Jyoti insists, “I have not said anything like that.”
