Patna: As the state gears up for the upcoming elections, tensions between political figures are intensifying. Bhojpuri actor and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate from Chhapra, Khesari Lal Yadav, has responded to a remark by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who reportedly questioned the RJD’s choice of candidate.
Speaking ahead of the elections, Choudhary had suggested in Chhapra that the RJD, unable to find a suitable candidate, had fielded “a dancer.” In reply, Khesari Lal Yadav embraced the label, stating that “I AM A DANCER” and noting that members of his group are disciples of Asaram Bapu.
“I am a very important person. It’s not fair to compare me to him,” Khesari said. “He stays away from dancing, singing, and music. There is nothing better than music in this world; without it, no one can survive. In his eyes, it is acceptable that I am a dancer. I am a human being, and I am an artist.”
Khesari also addressed development issues in Chhapra, questioning the Deputy CM’s record in the constituency. “They try to belittle us with their words, but how can they diminish a man who has risen through struggle? I cannot respond to such words personally. Samrat Bhaiya was my guardian yesterday and remains so today. I may disagree with someone’s ideology, but not the person. I respect the respect they show me.”
The actor-turned-politician insisted that his professional background is secondary to his commitment to the constituency. “Whether I am a dancer or a singer does not matter. What matters is how much better I can make Chhapra,” he said, adding that after the election, his critics would see his true potential as a public servant.
