Jamui: A plumber from Bihar’s Jamui district, working in Jaipur, Rajasthan, was left stunned on Tuesday morning when his bank account suddenly displayed a balance of over 100 lakh trillion rupees, an amount spanning 37 digits. The astonishing sum appeared due to what authorities are calling a “technical fault.”
Teni Manjhi, the laborer, discovered the astronomical figure when he checked his Kotak Mahindra Bank account to send money to his father, Kaleshwar Manjhi, for medical treatment. Overwhelmed by the sight, Teni immediately contacted his father in Achhari village, Jamui.
Upon seeing a screenshot of the balance on his son’s mobile, Kaleshwar Manjhi shared the unbelievable news with neighbors, causing a stir in the village as crowds gathered at his home. The matter quickly reached the cyber police station.
DSP Rajan Kumar of the Cyber Police Station confirmed that the incident was indeed a technical fault and stated that an investigation is underway. The Income Tax Department has also been informed. Shortly after the discovery, Teni Manjhi’s account was frozen by the bank, preventing him from accessing any funds. He later visited the bank to address the frozen account and his inability to send money for his father’s medicine.
