Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad has escalated his offensive against the NDA government in Bihar, alleging that the so-called “double engine government” is nothing more than a machinery of corruption.
Posting on X on Saturday, Lalu said: “Double engine government means corruption only. This corrupt system has to be changed this time. The Chief Minister will change. The government will also change.” He shared a video alleging large-scale irregularities and demanding accountability.
Bihar #RJD #LaluYadav pic.twitter.com/3JD1xvnyn2— Lalu Prasad Yadav (@laluprasadrjd) September 13, 2025
His remarks came in the wake of recent raids that unearthed crores of rupees at the residences of senior education department officials, including the RDDE and the DEO of Bettiah. Similar recoveries of cash had earlier been reported at the home of an engineer in the Rural Works Department.
“The reality is that the people sitting in the government in Bihar have a nexus with the officials. That is why such corruption is happening,” Lalu alleged, calling the discoveries shocking for one of India’s poorest states.
The RJD leader also claimed that the NDA had failed to account for Rs 71,000 crore, accusing the JDU-BJP alliance of presiding over a scam of enormous proportions. “This government has become a complement to corruption. Bihar is in a bad state. Bihar has to be freed from these clutches, only then corruption will be curbed,” he said.
