Patna: Political activity within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has intensified in Bihar, with speculation mounting over potential organisational changes. Early this morning, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi were seen leaving their residence at 10 Circular Road to inspect private properties under construction at Mahua Bagh and Kautilya Nagar.
The visits come amid the Lalu family’s plans to vacate the Rabri residence, prompting the former chief minister to personally oversee ongoing construction work. Sources noted that this is the first time both Lalu and Rabri have visited the properties together, signalling increased hands-on involvement by the party’s senior leadership.
Preparations are also underway for a crucial RJD meeting scheduled for January 25 at Hotel Maurya in Patna. Party insiders suggest the gathering will discuss organisational and leadership decisions, potentially setting the tone for the RJD’s future strategy. Observers speculate that the party may consider introducing a system of acting presidents, similar to practices seen in the BJP and JD(U), as it navigates its next phase of leadership.
