Patna: The 79th birthday of RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav was marked with cultural programmes, party gatherings and family participation at Rabri Devi’s residence in Patna on Thursday evening.
Party workers and supporters from across Bihar visited the residence throughout the day to extend greetings, while preparations for the evening cultural event continued alongside.
Cake-Cutting Ceremony and Family Presence
The celebrations included the cutting of a 79-pound cake by Lalu Prasad Yadav in the presence of family members, including Rabri Devi, Misa Bharti, and Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav.
Following the ceremony, party workers gathered at the residence where the RJD chief interacted with supporters and was seen greeting visitors.
Cultural Programme and Performances
An evening cultural programme featured Bhojpuri songs and traditional folk performances, including ‘Launda Naach’, a regional dance form that drew attention during the celebrations.
The atmosphere was marked by performances that continued alongside the presence of family members and party workers at the venue.
Gift Presented to Performer
Bhojpuri singer Chhotu Chhaliya performed during the event and contributed to the cultural programme.
During the event, Rabri Devi presented a diamond bracelet to the performer in appreciation of his performance, according to accounts shared by those present. Chhotu Chhaliya later said he has received multiple gifts from the family over time, including jewellery items on earlier occasions.
Interaction With Party Workers
During the day, Lalu Prasad Yadav was also seen interacting with party workers and personally serving food to some visitors who arrived to offer birthday greetings.
The celebrations were attended by supporters from multiple districts of Bihar, with party workers marking the occasion across various locations in the state.
