Patna: Bhojpuri film actor Pawan Singh has reportedly received a series of death threats from members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a notorious criminal network in India. The threats, sent via WhatsApp by a man identifying himself as Bablu, warned Singh against working with Bollywood star Salman Khan and threatened his life in Lucknow and elsewhere.
In one message, Bablu wrote: “Don’t work with Salman Khan, or we will shoot you in Lucknow… We will shoot you anywhere in the world.” The messages also referenced political figures, stating, “Who is Lawrence Bishnoi? Ask Upendra Kushwaha and Pappu Yadav,” and warned of a “countdown” if Singh did not respond. The messages further claimed that Singh would be unable to collaborate with Khan in future projects.

The threats escalated over two days, with calls received at 10:48 pm, 10:50 pm, and again at 7:13 pm and 7:15 pm on December 6 and 7. The caller reportedly demanded a large sum of money. Concerned about the danger, Singh’s manager immediately contacted Mumbai Police, who filed a complaint and assured enhanced security.
Despite the looming threat, Singh performed at the grand finale of Bigg Boss Season 19 at Mumbai Film City on Sunday, delivering a high-energy rendition of his hit song Raja Ji Dilwa Toot Jaai alongside Salman Khan and Neelam Giri.
Singh has previously received threats in September, prompting authorities to provide him with Y-plus security. This level of protection includes 11 personnel, comprising CRPF and CISF commandos along with private security officers, and is reserved for individuals considered to be in grave danger.
