Patna: The deadline for domestic LPG consumers to complete e-KYC and retain their subsidy is approaching, with consumers required to complete the verification process by August 16.
There are around 1.04 crore domestic LPG consumers of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in Bihar, of whom approximately 28 lakh have not yet completed e-KYC, according to information available from the LPG distribution network.
The pending verification has raised concerns among consumers who receive LPG subsidies and have yet to complete the process.
Large Number Of Consumers Yet To Complete Verification
Of the consumers yet to complete e-KYC, around 12 lakh have reportedly been inactive for the past year, while a significant number of active consumers are yet to undergo the verification process.
Consumers who are still using their LPG connections but have not completed e-KYC are concerned that failure to meet the deadline could affect their subsidy payments.
Consumers Report Problems With Mobile App
Consumers have been informed that they do not necessarily need to visit a gas agency to complete e-KYC. The verification facility is also available through the Indane mobile application, allowing consumers to complete the process from home.
However, some consumers have reported difficulties while using the app. They said the verification process either stalls midway or does not reach completion despite repeated attempts.
A Resident of Boring Road, said he attempted to complete his e-KYC through the mobile application but the process repeatedly stopped before completion.
With the deadline approaching, he said he is now considering contacting his gas agency to resolve the issue.
