Patna: The Bihar government has stepped up preparations for the renovation and modernisation of the historic Miller High School in Patna following directions issued by the Chief Minister.
Senior officials from the Energy Department and other state agencies visited the school on Tuesday to carry out a technical assessment of the campus and review the work required for the proposed restoration project.
Technical Survey Conducted
The inspection was carried out by Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL) Managing Director Naval Kishore Chaudhary, Patna Municipal Commissioner Yashpal Meena, and Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) Managing Director Vishal Raj.
The exercise was undertaken under the supervision of Energy Secretary Ajay Yadav.
Officials, accompanied by a technical team, inspected the school campus and assessed the condition of its buildings and existing infrastructure.
Focus On Heritage Conservation
During the visit, the team conducted a detailed technical evaluation of the school’s structures to determine the work required for their preservation, structural strengthening and modernisation.
Officials said the project would be implemented while retaining the historic identity and architectural heritage of Miller High School.
Project To Follow Chief Minister’s Directions
According to the Energy Department, the state government is expediting administrative and technical procedures to ensure the renovation project is completed within the stipulated timeframe and to the required quality standards.
School Principal Kiran Kumari, along with officials from the Education Department and the Patna Municipal Corporation, also participated in the inspection.
The proposed renovation is part of the Bihar government’s broader effort to upgrade public infrastructure while preserving historically significant educational institutions.
