Gayaji: The 22nd convocation ceremony of Magadh University was held on Tuesday, making it a historic moment as the event took place after nearly a decade. The ceremony brought together university officials, professors, students and parents, all eager to celebrate academic milestones. Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan attended as the chief guest and personally handed over convocation certificates to 250 PhD scholars.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the D.Litt. degree to Bihar Cabinet Minister Ashok Choudhary. Legislative Assembly Speaker Awadhesh Narayan Singh was also honoured with the title of Doctor of Agriculture (D.Litt.) in recognition of his contributions to education and society. The distribution of the awards was met with warm applause and appreciation from the audience.
During his address, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan spoke about the importance of true knowledge. He said that while many students work hard to secure a better future for themselves and their families, real knowledge should inspire people to think about the welfare of the world and society. Referring to the teachings of Lord Krishna, he said that those who work for the benefit of others never face misfortune and are remembered for their service.
Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Minister Ashok Choudhary said that the degree was based on the evaluation and interview conducted in connection with the caste census survey carried out by the Bihar government. He added that the honour motivates him further and highlights the value of combining academic work with public service.
