Purnia: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) during a public meeting in Purnia on Monday, accusing them of insulting Bihar by likening it to a bidi and undermining its reputation.
Speaking before a large crowd, PM Modi said that despite ongoing projects worth “thousands of crores” across the state, including the successful hosting of the Hockey Asia Cup in Rajgir and the construction of the Simaria bridge, the opposition was intent on defaming Bihar. “Congress and RJD cannot digest Bihar’s progress,” he said. “Their ally Congress is comparing Bihar to a bidi on social media. These people hate Bihar so much that they are damaging its reputation.”
https://t.co/mHT2VGjbOV

Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the new terminal of Purnia airport and flagged off its first commercial flight. He also inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth about Rs 40,000 crore, which he described as a historic boost for the region.
The prime minister said the opposition had harmed Bihar through scams and corruption in the past, and alleged that their current strategy was to disparage the state rather than support its development. “These people are busy filling their own coffers. They can never do any good for Bihar, nor for your families,” he told the gathering.
