Bhagalpur: As Bihar voted in the first phase of its 2025 Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a large crowd in Bhagalpur on Thursday, asserting that the NDA would return to power in the state.
“The daughters of Bihar are voting to keep jungle raj away,” PM Modi declared, beginning his address with a call for peace, progress, and participation. He claimed the enthusiasm among voters — especially women and youth — was proof of Bihar’s faith in the NDA’s development agenda.
PM Modi took sharp aim at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, alleging that their rule had left Bihar impoverished and insecure. “For a developed India, Bihar must develop. But RJD and Congress can never develop Bihar. They ruled for years and only betrayed you. Where guns and cruelty rule, law fails,” he said.
The Prime Minister questioned the uneasy alliance between Congress and RJD, asking, “Is there a picture of a Congress leader on RJD posters? There is tension between these two parties. Congress leaders didn’t even want to come to Bihar — they were dragged here.”
He accused the RJD of running a corrupt, nepotistic regime, saying, “They are taught only ‘F’ for extortion, ‘R’ for robbery, ‘P’ for parivarvad (nepotism), and ‘G’ for ghotala (scam).”
