Chakai (Jamui): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday drew a sharp contrast between Bihar before 2005 and the state today, saying the difference was “like day and night,” as he addressed a public meeting in the Chakai assembly constituency.
Highlighting his government’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and women’s empowerment, the Chief Minister said, “Earlier, the condition of roads was so poor that people had difficulty leaving their villages. Today, every village has paved roads connecting it to the main routes. This is a completely new Bihar.”
Nitish Kumar said that his administration had prioritized education, especially for girls. “We ensured that every panchayat has a high school. Now, girls can go to school by bicycle and complete their education. This change has empowered families and strengthened the future of Bihar,” he said, referring to the government’s flagship Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojana.
The Chief Minister also cited progress in health infrastructure, saying that access to healthcare had improved significantly across rural Bihar.
Referring to the Barnar Reservoir Project, a long-pending irrigation initiative in the region, Kumar said that work on it was “progressing rapidly” and that its completion would bring major relief to farmers by ensuring year-round water availability for agriculture.
Nitish Kumar appealed to voters to support the NDA government once again to maintain the momentum of development. “Our work has changed the lives of people across the state. To continue this progress, we must move forward together,” he said, ending his address to loud cheers from the gathered crowd.
