Patna: Former Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday, marking a shift in his political affiliation. Tiwari, who was considered close to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, said his political journey would now continue with the BJP.
Speaking after joining the party, Tiwari became emotional and said, “I will live and die here,” while expressing his commitment to the BJP.
Tiwari Highlights NDA’s Development Agenda
Tiwari said he joined the BJP after considering the party’s vision for the development of Bihar and the country.
“The NDA has a clear vision for the country and Bihar. There is a roadmap for development and a commitment to working in the public interest,” he said.
He also praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar BJP leader Samrat Choudhary, saying government schemes were reaching people across society.
Criticises Opposition Parties
Tiwari criticised opposition parties, alleging that they lacked a clear agenda for public development.
“Mere political rhetoric cannot bring about the welfare of the people. The people of Bihar and the country now stand with development, good governance, and stable leadership,” he said.
He added that he would work for the BJP with dedication and contribute to strengthening the party organisation.
Senior BJP Leaders Attend Joining Ceremony
Tiwari joined the BJP in the presence of state party president Sanjay Saraogi, former minister Mangal Pandey and state media in-charge Danish Iqbal.
BJP leaders welcomed his induction and said his joining would strengthen the party organisation in Bihar.
