Munger/Patna: The administration has stepped up efforts to complete the remaining work on the Munger-Mirzachowki four-lane project, with officials now set to monitor progress through weekly targets and regular reviews.
A review meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Munger Divisional Commissioner Prem Singh Meena to assess the progress of the project and discuss the pending construction work.
District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer and officials associated with the project, along with representatives of the executing agency, attended the meeting.
Last 2.2 Km of Construction to Be Completed on Priority
During the meeting, the divisional commissioner sought an update from the executing agency on the ongoing construction work.
He directed officials to complete the remaining 2.2-km stretch and other pending works within the निर्धारित timeline, while ensuring that construction progresses at the required pace.
The executing agency was asked to focus on unfinished sections and ensure that the project moves towards completion without further delay.
Weekly Work Plan to Track Progress
To accelerate construction, officials were directed to prepare a weekly work plan with clearly defined targets.
Progress will be reviewed every week, with pending works to be prioritised based on their urgency and importance.
The move is aimed at ensuring that delays are identified quickly and corrective action can be taken without waiting for the next major review meeting.
Quality Standards to Remain a Priority
Along with speeding up construction, the commissioner stressed that all prescribed construction standards and quality norms must be followed.
Officials have been instructed to carry out regular inspections of the work so that construction quality is maintained throughout the remaining stages of the project.
The administration has made it clear that faster completion should not come at the cost of quality.
Traffic Jams Also on Administration’s Radar
The meeting also discussed the traffic congestion associated with the ongoing construction.
The divisional commissioner directed officials to take necessary measures to address traffic jams at the earliest and ensure smoother movement of vehicles in areas affected by the project.
The issue assumes significance as construction activity and incomplete stretches can create bottlenecks for commuters and commercial traffic.
